World Cup of Darts: Gerwyn Price says England’s Luke Littler and Luke Humphries didn’t show team ethic | Darts News
Gerwyn Price said that the English duo Luke Littler and Luke Humphries “did not show a team ethics” because they suffered a shock out during the Darts World Cup.
Germany Martin Schindler and Ricardo Pietterczko produced an inspired exhibition to overthrow the dream team of England in the second round on Saturday.
Schindler and Pietterczko – Rugi by the German crowd – stormed a sensational victory 8-4 Of the two best players in the world to continue their offer for the glory of the World Cup at the Eissporthalle.
Humphries and Littler were the overwhelming favorites of Pre-Tournoi, but their long-awaited beginnings as a partnership resulted in an outing at the start of the shock.
The prize reached the final alongside Jonny Clayton before undergoing a Dramatic 10-9 defeat against Northern Ireland in Frankfurt on Sunday.
Speaking after the defeat, `The Iceman ” felt Littler and Humphries, who both received Mbes in the honors of the King’s birthday, showed no team unit in the preparation of the event.
“I think you must have a connection. You must have this camaraderie out of the scene and the connection because when we all shot the first day – and I am not only saying that because they lost – but the only two players who did not become together, were not seated together, did not play as a team. I am not saying who they are but they did not win their first match,” said the former world champion.
“You must introduce yourself together, you must be in a team. You present yourself as a team, you train together, you sit together. It is a team ethics and it was not manifested with England.
“It was shown on the board. These are great players individually, but you have to be in a team.
“I wanted them to do well, but they did not do it. I am not only saying that! I wanted them to do well, but they were garbage.”
Schindler, who had insisted in advance that the English duo was “battable,” said Sky Sports: “I was right because we believed in ourselves.
“We achieved a solid performance, and obviously the double Ricardo 16 entered, so we are very happy to pass.”
